Thomas Nydegger studied law at the University of Bern. As a lawyer admitted to the bar, he provided in his professional career to date his expertise and professional experience to various companies as in-house counsel. For several years, Thomas Nydegger also worked at the Swiss Competition Commission, where he led a team of lawyers and economists focusing on financial services (banks, insurance companies, brokers, stock exchanges, etc.). He expanded his knowledge of Swiss and European competition law and financial market law by obtaining an Executive Master of European and International Business Law (Exec. M.B.L.-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen.
Before joining Swiss Infosec AG, Thomas Nydegger worked for a large Swiss watchmaking group and for a provider of solar equipment. It was during this time that he first came into contact with IT and data protection law. He supported several subsidiaries in Switzerland and in various EU countries in implementing the European General Data Protection Regulation. Most recently, he worked as a partner in a Zurich commercial law firm and advised his clients namely in the areas of competition law, data protection law and compliance. Thomas Nydegger is also a regular course instructor and speaker and is highly regarded in this capacity by both domestic and foreign authorities and companies. He offers his services in German, French and English.
